Bail is set at $1,000 cash for a 51- year-old Manitowoc man facing numerous Bail Jumping charges,
Brian Bell is charged with 13 bail jumping charges in all, 12 of which are felonies.
Police took Bell into custody for a third time in two weeks last Friday evening, hours after he was released on bail from a previous incident late last month.
Officers were called to a residence in the 2300 block of South 23rd Street on a report that Bell was “highly intoxicated “and driving to a liquor store.
They noticed several empty miniature liquor bottles in the back. A computer data search indicated that Bell was not allowed to drive as a condition of bail.
Bell said that he was told it was o.k. for him to drive When he was told that wasn’t the case, he allegedly called the arresting officer a derogatory name and continued his belligerence toward law enforcement and was eventually taken into custody without further incident.
The lone condition of bail is that Bell is not to operate a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
He remains in the County Jail with his initial appearance scheduled for December 19th at 1:30.
He also has future court appearances coming up on January 9th in his November 29th case and a status conference is set on his remaining 11 charges January 20th
