Bail was set at $1,000 cash for a 20-year-old Manitowoc woman accused of stealing a car from the parking lot of a Manitowoc bar.
Margaret Metzger-Meek is charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Without the Owner’s Consent, Theft, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, two counts of Felony Bail Jumping, and three counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
Manitowoc Police were called to Saucy’s Bar on Washington Street Tuesday to investigate a report of that a vehicle had been stolen Monday night from the bar’s parking lot.
Officers recognized Metzger-Meek from surveillance video that she was a suspect that took a coat from the vehicle’s owner.
They noticed that the suspect vehicle was parked at The Tipsy Tomato on Memorial Drive and brought her in for questioning.
Metzger-Meek admitted that she had taken the coat and the vehicle and was taken into custody.
The lone condition of bail is that she is to have no contact with the victim.
Metzger-Meek remains in the County Jail with her initial appearance scheduled for January 9th at 1:30 p.m.
