The man accused of setting fire to a residence in Manitowoc has been sentenced.
44-year-old Dang Vang will spend 2 years in prison and two years on extended supervision after being found guilty due to a no-contest plea on a charge of Arson of a Building Without the Owner’s Consent.
Additional charges of Criminal Damage to Property, Resisting an Officer, Disorderly Conduct, Negligent Handling of Smoking Material, and Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia were dismissed by read into the record.
Vang was arrested after he broke into a residence on South 14th Street and set fire to the floor.
Prior to that, he also destroyed a soda machine located outside of another building on Division Street in that same area.
Vang has also been ordered to undergo counseling, and maintain absolute sobriety upon his release.
