A Grand Opening-Ribbon Cutting was held yesterday at Carpets Plus in Manitowoc.
After providing service to their customers for the last 28 years at 2719 Calumet Avenue, they’ve moved down the block to 3315 Calumet which was the former Rustic Touch Building.
Former owner Bob Dedering has been in the flooring business since 1982.
“I’m 65 years old, not that’s the magic age but I knew I had to transition at some point,” he said on the Welcome Home program. “The Bartow family and I have been in negotiations for some time and a few months ago I sold it to Brandon and his family. I’m very excited for the future of Carpets Plus.”
Brandon Bartow also owns and operates Bartow Builders and BRIX Bar and Restaurant in downtown Manitowoc.
He says that he couldn’t pass up this opportunity.
“We were looking to invest in something that has longevity,” Bartow explained. “That has good business practices and stand the test of time.”
Keegan Bartow is also part of the ownership group and Operations Manager.
He says they’ve integrated some technology to better serve their customers and trade partners.
They’ve also expanded their showroom and will continue to adjust as needed to make your shopping experience seamless.
However, most of everything else remains the same including to continue learning from those who’ve proceeded him.
“It’s been a great transition and learning experience for me,” Keegan said. “I’m learning from Bob and there’s no other mentor that could be better to learn from than Bob in these last couple months.”
Dedering will stay on for a few months to help with a smooth transition.
Carpets Plus is open Monday thru Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and can be contacted by phone at (920) 686-0060.
