It’s a big weekend for meat lovers in Manitowoc.
The Manitowoc Eagles Club is hosting a giant meat raffle on Saturday for the benefit of The Crossing of Manitowoc County, a local non-profit family resource and parenting education center.
The meat is being supplied by Rob’s Family Market with steaks, pork ribs, boneless chicken breasts, and lots more, including shrimp & white fish for those celebrating Lent.
The action starts at 1:00 in the afternoon, with bucket and cash raffles every half hour.
Executive Director of The Crossing Belinda Esquinas says the profits are going to a special program that The Crossing features that provides children’s car seats. “This meat raffle is going to benefit The Crossing, and more specifically the “Babies Ride Safe” program”.
Esquinas explained, “We want to make sure our babies are riding safe, and car seats provide the earliest of care and safety for our children, and those car seats are expensive!”
Esquinas also noted that, “You have to be there to purchase the tickets, and you must be present to win. So the beauty of this is because there are so many rounds, you can come and do one round, two rounds, or the entire time. You can come at 3, you can come at 4, or 2:30. You can come any time, but you must be there to purchase tickets and also to win.”
Tickets at the raffle are 7 for $5, or 21 for $10 All proceeds from the meat sale will go directly to The Crossing of Manitowoc County.
