The Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc will be presenting what should be a very interesting story this Thursday evening (March 2nd) as part of their March Think & Drink Series.
It’s entitled “Underground Resistance-The Story of Mildred Fish-Harnack” featuring speaker Kari Knutson.
The Wisconsin-born Fish-Harnack was the only American woman to die by Adolf Hitler’s direct order during World War II.
Knutson from UW-Madison will tell the story of Mildred’s life and explain how a girl from Milwaukee became a celebrated hero of the resistance to the Nazi regime in Germany.
Doors and the bar open at 6:00 p.m.
Thursday and the featured specialty drink is Red Orchestra Mule, which is available for purchase in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties.
Beer and wine will also be available.
The talk and live stream portion of the presentation begins at 6:30 p.m.
Admission is free both in-person and virtually and to access the live stream of the event, you can click here to register.
The museum-sponsored event should conclude by 7:30 p.m.
