Manitowoc police chief Nick Reimer appeared on WOMT’s Be My Guest program this week and had this message for those celebrating St Patrick’s Day this weekend.
“Absolutely we want people to celebrate St Paddy’s Day with a green beer and so forth,” he told host Lee Douglas. “But obviously we ask people to drink responsibly and also if you’re gonna end up driving or something like that try not to drink at all or make sure that you’re not impaired when you’re driving.”
Reimer also discussed the upcoming city auction, which will be held Saturday, April 22nd:
“We have over a hundred bicycles every year so that’s the majority of what we auction, but every few years we offer bigger items and all the city department heads can put things into the auction,” he explained. “So there could be ladders, there could be desks, there could be all kinds of different things.”
The doors will open for the auction at 8:00 a.m. and the sale will begin at 9:00.
The site for the auction will be the Manitowoc Parks Building at the corner of Waldo Boulevard and Fleetwood Drive.
