Bail is set at $5,000 cash for a 22-year-old Manitowoc man following a two-vehicle crash Saturday night on Manitowoc’s southside.
Juan D, Carrillo is charged with Causing Injury while Operating while under the influence and knowingly Operating without a valid driver’s license Causing Great Bodily Harm.
Officers responded to the crash at South 10th and Madison Streets where it was determined that a car operated by Carrillo, was traveling westbound on Madison when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of South 10th and struck a pickup truck driven by Tyrone Faber.
Faber, along with an unidentified passenger in the truck was extricated from the vehicle and flown to a hospital via Flight for Life for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Carrillo was transported to Holy Family Memorial Hospital via EMS for evaluation.
An officer noted a strong odor of alcohol emitting from Carrillo while speaking with him where he admitted to being drunk, running the stop sign, and that he shouldn’t have been driving.
Conditions of bail are that Carrillo is not to operate a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license and maintain absolute sobriety.
He remains in the County Jail with an initial appearance set for April 10th at 1:30 p.m.
