The City of Manitowoc has provided updates on a variety of construction projects happening this year.
Mayor Justin Nickels mentions the complete reconstruction of Reed Avenue as well as Albert Drive and works on three different alleys.
He tells Seehafer News that 2024 will be a big year for a surplus of projects.
However, the most notable update is one that the community has been waiting on for a long time.
“Washington Street and Calumet. The state did approve moving forward with that project, looking like 2029 is going to be the year that it would start,” he revealed. “We’re already putting money in this year’s budget for engineering, for design.”
Nickels emphasizes that most of the funding is coming from the state, not from local taxpayers.
The city will release more updates as projects continue.
