There’s a new look atop the left centerfield fence at Manitowoc’s Municipal Baseball Field.
MPSD Athletic Director Stan Diedrich tells Seehafer News that a new red scoreboard replaces the old green board that was in place for years.
“It’s really cool because we see this going up after taking down the old one that, my guess is, was up for 20-plus years,” Diedrich noted. “It served its time and probably needed to be replaced a few years ago and now with the Manitowoc Public School District taking ownership of the field and going out and contacting businesses we had tremendous support.”
Diedrich told us that five local businesses made the new scoreboard possible.
They are Alliance Laundry Systems, Culvers, Parker-Hannifin, Nelson Truck and Equipment, and Phipps Construction.
He added, “We are very grateful for them and at some point this spring we plan on having a formal dedication to honor those businesses.”
