Last week, voters elected to support the Manitowoc school district by voting yes to the proposed 5-year operating referendum by a 52 to 48 % margin.
Manitowoc school superintendent Jim Feil appeared on the WCUB Breakfast Club recently to express his gratitude to the MPSD residents for the yes votes, and to extend a hand to those who voted no.
“52 percent of voters voted that in, but 48% didn’t support it. I think that reflects itself in terms of we’re in some challenging times in terms of inflation and some other things,” Feil said. “So we’re going to remain good stewards of public funds, and demonstrate what we can do to get that great return that everyone’s been looking for.”
Feil added that he is truly grateful for the community’s support in helping the district grow and achieve, and provide high-quality academic and extra-curricular opportunities for all students.
