Hundreds of the nation’s best soldiers converged on Fort Benning in Georgia this weekend to compete in the annual Best Ranger Competition.
One of those participating was Sargent First Class Nicholas Whitney, a Manitowoc native.
This was his second year taking part in the event, and this year, SFC Whitney and his partner 1st Lieutenant Zachary Navara came in 6th place.
This was a two-place improvement for SFC Whitney from last year’s 8th-place finish.
