In Boys Baseball last night, Manitowoc Lincoln defeated visiting Ashaubenon 11-to-1 in 5 innings at Municipal Field.
The win moved the Ships to 7 and 0, including 5 and 0 in the FRCC while the Jaguars fell to 4 and 2.
Winning pitcher Bryce Erdmann went the distance, scattering 5 hits and he received plenty of offensive support along the way.
Walker Linboom had a key 2 out, 2-run double in the first off losing pitcher Boone Kirst to give the Ships the early lead.
Ethan Hubbartt added 2 hits and 3 RBI, Gavin Lettenberger had a pair of hits and 2 RBI and Evan Vogt chipped in 2 hits and a run batted in.
Coach Bruce Steinbecker’s squad is scheduled to host Kewaunee Thursday afternoon before resuming conference play at Bay Port Friday.
Meanwhile, in Girls Softball, Mishicot scored 16 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning last night en route to a 21 to 6 victory over visiting St. Mary Catholic.
The game was called after 4 innings by the mercy rule.
Cora Stodola was the winning pitcher and also homered as part of a 3 for 4 performance that included 3 runs scored and 5 RBI.
Kaelin Adair also went 3 for 4 as the Indians banged out 19 hits on the afternoon. Coach Dawn Shimek’s team travels to Sheboygan Lutheran Thursday,
Elsewhere, Bay Port was a 7-to-1 winner over host Manitowoc Lincoln at the Citizen Park Youth Sports Complex.
Ana Sanchez was 4 for 4 in a losing effort for the Ships with 3 singles and a double.
Karenna Sorenson threw a complete game for Lincoln (now 3 and 5), allowing 6 hits and only 2 earned runs to go along with 4 strikeouts.
