Bail is set at $5,000 cash for a 19-year-okd Menasha woman after allegedly breaking into a car dealership and stealing a vehicle.
Alexis R. Marusa is charged with Burglary Tp A Building, Obstructing An Officer, Operating A Vehicle Without The Owners Consent, Criminal Damage To Property and Felony Bail Jumping.
An Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle without its lights on early Tuesday morning near the intersection of South 31st and Custer Streets.
Marusa originally gave the officer a fake name, then eventually told the truth and was placed in cuffs on a parole hold.
When asked who’s car she was driving, the Menasha woman stated that one that her father had recently purchased a statement refuted by her mother.
Officers discovered that the suspect car had been stolen from The Van Horn Dealership in Manitowoc.
Upon returning the car a rock was located by police near a broken window which police believe was used to break the window for Marusa to allegedly gain access into the business.
Several key fobs for other vehicles were discovered in Marusa’s pockets with her mother adding that her daughter has a history of stealing vehicles and was recently released from jail on a previous burglary conviction.
The lone condition of bail are that Marusa is not to have any contact with any premises that sells vehicles.
She remains in The County Jail and her initial appearance is set for May 1st at 1:30.
