InCourage is holding a 5K run/walk this Saturday in support of April being Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
InCourage is Manitowoc County’s Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Center that supports victims and families who are struggling with abuse.
InCourage representative Violet tells Seehafer News “The whole theme of Sexual Assault Awareness Month for this year is to kind of bring community members together. So this year we decided to do a 5K and hope that spreads awareness throughout our community and brings people together, as well as other organizations.”
The 5K will begin at 8 am at Red Arrow Park and will conclude at 11 am. Registration includes a fee of $20 that will be used to support InCourage.
There will be other events and activities at the Fun Run as well.
Violet says, “We’re looking to just have a day filled with not only bringing awareness to everyone but also bringing the community together to support survivors and to support each other.”
