Manitowoc County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer spoke to Seehafer News about updates on the Courthouse Dome renovations this past week.
The renovation committee meets monthly to discuss the logistics and the agenda for this project. Ziegelbauer urges the importance of these meetings.
The County Executive said, “The Courthouse is 116 years old, and if we take care of it, it can last for another 116 years.”
Renovations have been done to most of the offices and courtrooms inside, but now the roof is the focal point.
Ziegelbauer stresses that this project may take time, but it’s a crucial part of the community.
“You can see that the Courthouse is a vibrant building and it serves a lot of people,” he noted. “You can’t replace the courthouse very easily.”
A full list of past and future renovations can be found on the city’s website as well as the agenda for committee meetings.
