In FRCC Baseball Saturday Manitowoc Lincoln swept a doubleheader from Pulaski by scores of 3-to-1 and 5-1. The games were moved to Municipal Field as the Red Raiders field was unplayable. Ships improve to 11 and 2 overall, 8 and 2 in conference play.
In Girls’ Fastpitch Softball, Mishicot competed in the Ashwaubenon Invitational Saturday against 3 large school programs. The Indians dropped a 3-2 decision to the host Jaguars, before falling to Kimberly 7-3 and Bay Port 6-to-1. Cora Nelson homered and tripled in a losing effort against the Papermakers for Mishicot, now 11 and 4 this spring.
In Track & Field Friday, Manitowoc Lincoln placed 3rd in both the boys and girls divisions at the Two Rivers Invitational. Tessa Campbell paced the Lady Ships with meet records while winning both the 200 and 400 meter dash events. She also was part of the victorious 4 x 400 relay that included Khloe Jalbert, Breanna Jansky, and Audrey Rabitz. Other Lincoln firsts were turned in by Caleb Jatczak in the boys 800-meter run, and the girls’ 4 x 200 relay consisting of Kaitlyn and Breanna Jansky, Ava Bierman, and Khloe Jalbert. The host Raiders and Little Chute tied for the boys’ team title while the Mustangs captured the girls’ crown with TR the runner-up finisher.
In Boys Tennis, Roncalli won a pair of EWC matches last week to improve to 3 and 3 in league action. The Jets downed both Waupun and Howards Grove by the identical score of 6-nothing. Kohler and Plymouth remain tied for first place at 5 and 0.
