Lung cancer is the number one cancer killer in the United States.
With that said, the American Lung Association encourages all Wisconsinites to wear turquoise today to raise awareness and help end this deadly disease.
Turquoise is a color that symbolizes clean air and breath.
Whether it be a shirt, earrings, socks, or whatever you have in your closet please dig those items out to call attention to this insidious disease which takes the lives of many each year.
The good news is that through campaigns like this and heightened overall awareness, the five-year survival rate has increased by 40 percent in the last decade
To help in this effort you are encouraged to take a photo and tag Turquoise Takeover and/or #LUNGFORCE.
