Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels spoke to Seehafer News this week about recent events occurring in the community.
Most notably, the ribbon cutting of the River North Apartments today (May 12th).
This event is also serving as a celebration for the turning point of development in the River Point District.
Nickles called it a “Celebration of the River Point district, where it’s come with the River North Apartments and PetSkull and all the other improvements there. Also, a preview of what is coming. We’re going to be putting a lot of TIF dollars into projects this year, a lot of public space along the river, cleaning up the riverfront.”
That ribbon cutting will begin at 2:30 p.m.
The mayor also mentions his annual State of the City Address being held next week Monday geared towards informing the public of Manitowoc events of the past year, as well as plans of what’s to come.
Anyone is welcome to attend the Common Council meeting at City Hall or view the live stream on the city’s Facebook page to view the address.
