Competitors from as far away as Alaska are expected to compete locally next weekend in the 2023 Spring Fling Women’s Open Disc Golf Tournament.
Event organizer Lindsay Krause said the competition will occur on Saturday, May 20th at two area locations.
“Our gals will be playing at both Lower Cato Falls County Park as well as Rollin Ridge Disc Golf Course….both are Reedsville addresses,” she said while on the WCUB Breakfast Club. “So, they’re just a hop and skip away from each other.”
Krause explained this is the 2nd annual tournament, however, she added “This year we joined the Wisconsin tour so we’re established as an official Wisconsin Disc Golf Tour stop, making us the first ever women’s event on the tour.”
One of those competing is professional disc golfer Barrett White of Illinois, along with some women from Minnesota and even a player from Alaska who’s entered in the 40 plus age division.
Krause emphasized there’s still room to enter and ladies can register through tomorrow (May 14th) by going to www.SpringFlingDiscGolf.com.
Volunteers are welcome too as spotters and to coordinate games or raffles at the tournament.
