A Manitowoc woman has been sentenced after she huffed and fled from police.
Judge Jerilyn Dietz ordered 60-year-old Julie A. Grimm to spend six years on probation after she was found guilty due to no-contest pleas on charges of OWI, her 4th offense, and Hit and Run.
Charges of Resisting or Failing to Stop for Police and Intentionally Abusing a Hazardous Substance were dismissed but read into the record.
Grimm was arrested on September 23rd, 2020 after she and her now 37-year-old son Nicholas Beaupre fled from police following a hit-and-run crash.
When they were eventually pulled over, Grimm was found behind the wheel with empty duster cans on the floor while Beaupre was said to have a “blank look on his face” with a duster can on his chest and a second on the floor.
As a part of her probation, Grimm was ordered to maintain absolute sobriety and had her driver’s license revoked for three years.
