In Wisconsin, the state law intended to shield victims of violent crimes will remain in effect.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court affirmed Marcy’s Law Tuesday.
The law safeguards crime victims’ rights and shields them from some inquiries just as it does for suspects and criminals.
Due to the one-sentence statement used to persuade voters to pass the law back in 2020, an organization that represents suspects and defendants contested the legislation.
The court effectively stated that the issue on the ballot passed muster and that there is no legal requirement for ballot questions to be extremely precise.
