State senator Andre Jacque has made a statement on the authority the UW System Board of Regents has to increase tuition prices after the recent expiration of the tuition freeze.
The freeze maintains affordability for Wisconsin residents while also enhancing education quality.
Jacque aims to prevent the fees from rising too high.
He told Seehafer News, “I’ve reintroduced legislation capping tuition and fee increases for in-state Wisconsin undergraduates to the rate of inflation.”
He hopes to support families of students through their process of funding and budgeting for their college education and to make sure that costs stay at the same general rate.
