Manitowoc Lincoln received a complete game effort from Karenna Sorenson but lost on the road to Slinger 6-to-3 last night in a WIAA Division Regional Girls Softball matchup.
Kailee Ansorge delivered a 2-for-4 performance at the plate including an RBI and a run scored while fellow senior Delaney Granger went 2-for-3.
Ships Coach Ashley Bauer and her coaching staff thanked seniors Kailee Ansorge, Karenna Sorenson, Delaney Granger, Olivia Konkle and Kendra Wech for all their hard word and dedication to the softball program and wishes them well at college and in their future endeavors.
Elsewhere, Mishicot rolled to a 12-0 victory over visiting Brillion in a WIAA Division-3 Regional semifinal ballgame last night.
The Indians jumped out to a 6-nothing lead in the first inning, added a run in the 3rd and then plated 5 more runs in the home half of the 4th.
The game ended after 4 and a half innings when the Lions failed to score in the top of the 5th.
Cora Stodola was again the winning pitcher on a 1 hit shutout with 3 walks and 8 strikeouts. She also homered and doubled and knocked in 3 runs to lead the offense.
Mishicot travels to 2nd seeded Chilton to battle the Tigers in the Regional championship Thursday afternoon.
Chilton also blanked Kiel 10-0 in a game halted after 5 by the mercy rule.
