Lakeshore area athletes will be trying to take the next step along the WIAA tournament trail this afternoon.
Sectionals will be taking place in Boys and Girls Track and Field in 3 divisions, and Manitowoc Lincoln High School’s #1 doubles team will try to earn a berth in the state tennis tournament when it competes in the Sectional at Fox Cities Racquet Club.
In Girls’ Fastpitch Softball, there are a handful of games in Division 3 Regional championship play, Mishicot is on the road at Chilton and Southern Door visits New Holstein.
In Division-4, Reedsville goes to the Town of Fox Crossing to battle St. Mary Catholic while St. Mary’s Springs travels to Algoma.
It’s also the opening round of the Boys’ Baseball Tournament for many local teams.
In Division-3 Regional games, Roncalli is at Mishicot, Manitowoc Lutheran travels to St, Mary Catholic, Valders will be at Howards Grove and Brillion plays host to Omro.
#1 seeded Kewaunee and 2nd seeded Kiel have first night byes.
In Division-2 Regional play, Two Rivers has a road trip to Freedom and Sheboygan Falls makes a trip to Waupaca.
Denmark has a bye as the #1 seed in the upper half of the Sectional bracket.
