A 20-year-old Manitowoc man is free on $300 cash bail after allegedly driving his motorcycle erratically and fighting with police.
Gabriel T. Whatley is facing charges of OWI Second Offense, Fleeing or Eluding an Officer, Resisting an Officer, Possession of a Firearm while intoxicated and six counts of bail jumping, four felony and two misdemeanors.
A Manitowoc Police Officer was on patrol early Saturday morning when a motorcycle turned onto Marshall from South 14th Street.
The officer witnessed the driver (Whatley) accelerate and swerve as he approached Washington Street.
Whatley was spotted at a bar on North 8th Street by another officer. When they approached the two got into an altercation.
Whatley was quickly subdued, handcuffed and taken into custody without further incident.
Conditions of bail are that Whatley is not to possess any dangerous weapons and must maintain “absolute sobriety.”
His initial appearance is scheduled for June 5th at 1:30 p.m.
