Bail is set at $1,500 recognizance for a 39-year-old Manitowoc man who was involved in a domestic incident and a standoff with police.
Rodney D. Ford has been charged with Battery with a Domestic Violence Enhancer and two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
Police were called Tuesday evening to a residence in the 1200 block of South 31st Street for the report of a Domestic altercation.
Two people who had been yelling were eventually separated with officers witnessing one of them running through the backyard and eventually make it back into the house and lock the door.
An officer spoke with the female victim, who claimed that Ford was intoxicated and had punched her “a few times.”
Blood was found on the porch prompting additional units to be called to the scene.
The female victim admitted to hitting Ford back a few times to escape. A search warrant was executed as officers used a battering ram to knock down the door and apprehend the suspect and take him into custody.
Ford was evaluated at a local hospital then booked into The County Jail.
Conditions of bail are that Ford have “no contact” with the victim or her residence and maintain “absolute sobriety.”
He is due back in court for his initial appearance June 22nd at 10:30.
