Two local golf teams fell short in their bid to advance to the state tournament.
In the D-3 Sectional at Hunters Glen Golf Course in Crivitz, Roncalli, and Mishicot came up short, finishing 5th and 10th respectively.
The top two teams to advance were Newman Catholic, who carded a 337, and Lena, who finished five strokes back.
John Oberbroeckling led the way for Roncalli in what was his final high school golf tournament, shooting an 83, which was good for a tie for 9th place.
Fellow Jets Senior Bradyen Yanda finished 23rd with an 88, while junior Owen Just was one shot better.
Freshman Karson Kowalsi was the top shooter for Mishicot, as he carded an 87, putting him in a six-way tie for 17th place.
Meanwhile, golfers from Manitowoc Lincoln and Regional champion Sheboygan North will play 18 holes today in the Division-1 Sectional hosted by Quit Qui Oc Golf Course in Elkhart Lake.
As was the case in the Diviison-2 and 3 Sectionals played Tuesday, the top 2 teams and 1st 3 individuals not on qualifying teams punch their ticket to State at Blackwolf Run next week.
