The Manitowoc Lincoln tennis tandem of junior Ayden Knuth and sophomore Cohen Newberg fell to a duo from Eau Claire Memorial in the opening round of The WIAA State Individual Boys Tennis Tournament at Nielsen Stadium in Madison.
Junior Gavin Sorenson and Senior Seth Robinson of The Old Abes won in straight sets 3-6 and 5-7.
Sorenson and Robinson improve to 24 and 6 while Ayden and Cohen finish a great season at 20 and 7.
Their Head Coach Bob Feller had nothing but praise for how the boys played all year long adding “We are already looking forward to next year”, which will be Coach Feller’s 50th at the helm of The Ships program.
