The Gardens at Felician Village is hosting a Flag Day event on June 14th.
The event is set to begin at 11 a.m. with a flag-raising ceremony from VFW Otto Oas Post 659.
It will be followed by patriotic songs led by Gardens resident, Barb Cook. Afterward, lunch will be available for purchase for $6.00 per person.
The event at The Gardens, located at 1700 South 18th Street in Manitowoc, is open to the public and to register, call 920-684-7171, ext. 402.
Flag day is a time to observe the adoption of the flag.
It first gained attention on June 14th, 1889 when Professor George Bolch, a principal of a free kindergarten in New York City, had his school hold patriotic ceremonies to remember the anniversary of the adoption of the flag.
