The Rahr West Art Museum is hosting a new exhibition.
The collection titled Art Against the Odds: Wisconsin Prison Art will be displayed through August 6th.
The collection is part of a statewide prison art exhibition that was created through the Portrait Society Gallery of Contemporary Art in Milwaukee.
It features the art of over 60 artists who turned to art to alleviate the dehumanizing conditions of incarceration.
With limited art programs and materials in the prison system, individuals often teach themselves and work with limited materials.
