Lakeside Foods is moved into a new home, and they will be hosting a ribbon cutting to celebrate later this month.
The ceremony will be held at their new office building, located at 2400 South 44th Street, next to the AMC Movie Theater on June 20th.
The Manitowoc food giant used to do all of their corporate dealings in the former Manitowoc Library building next to the Courthouse, but as Communications Director Anne Smith explains, they simply outgrew the aging building.
“We needed more space, and also upgraded conference rooms and technology,” she explained. “All of that goes along with operating in a new office environment.”
In fact, the building, which was the former home of Nicolet Bank, offers Lakeside an estimated 20% more space.
Smith also told us that with the new building, which was constructed in 2001, they were able to make an upgrade to a very important aspect of their company, quality assurance.
“We had a woefully inadequate lab, in terms of not only the space but how it functioned,” Smith revealed. “Here, there was a lot of flexibility…that we were able to build a state-of-the-art quality assurance lab and also a customer food experience center essentially.”
Lakeside Purchased the property in August of last year and began moving in on April 20th following a renovation project.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony with The Chamber of Manitowoc County will begin at noon, but public tours will not be given.
