Local faith leaders want to make their support clear for Pride Month.
Leaders from Manitowoc’s United Church of Christ at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial, St. James Episcopal Church, the First Presbyterian Church, Peace United Church of Christ, and St. Paul Lutheran Church, along with Calvary Lutheran Church in Two Rivers, and the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Plymouth share that they feel the area is blessed to be home to LGBTQIA+ family, friends, neighbors, and members of their faith communities.
They said in a joint statement, “We believe that God made us each, Imago Dei, in the image of God. We believe that when the image of God is denied in our LGBTQIA+ siblings, whether by law, policy, or hatred, the Imago Dei is diminished in all of us”.
The leaders aim to practice inclusivity and faithfulness by being welcoming and open.
These congregations fully support LGBTQIA+ Christians in communion, marriage, and ordination.
