The Wisconsin Assembly passed a package of bills that would allow people to get work licenses more quickly.
In last week’s Madison update on WOMT Radio, Wisconsin Representative Shae Sortwell explained why this is important.
“For many jobs from plummer to doctor to accountant to realtor, you need a license from the state. Unfortunately for the last few years, the Governor’s administration has not been the most efficient in getting these licenses issued,” the assemblyman explained. “These bills would give the legislature and the public critical information we need to make future improvements and choices as well as create streamlining within the administration.”
Sortwell added that many groups supported this package, including the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative, the Wisconsin Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence, Wisconsin CPAs, Bellen Health, the Wisconsin Hospital Association, the Realtor’s Association, and more.
