Bail is set at $50,000 cash for a 51-year-old Manitowoc man for allegedly sexually assaulting a family member.
Jose Ramon Altamirano Moreno is charged with Incest of a child with additional charges possibly forthcoming as investigators speak to other children that he has been in contact with.
Child Protective Services contacted Manitowoc Police after receiving a report of a local middle school student being pregnant.
Numerous men, including her father, were potentially the father as the victim’s family were known to help Nicaraguan immigrants settle in the area.
A test confirmed that her father impregnated his daughter. He has denied any wrongdoing.
Conditions of bail include that Altamirano-Moreno have no contact with the child or the victim’s child, “no contact” with anyone who lives at the residence, and is not to leave Manitowoc County without permission from the court.
He remains in The County Jail with his initial appearance scheduled for this coming Monday (June 19th) at 1:30.
