The City of Manitowoc Fire Rescue Department released statistics for May at the recent Police and Fire Commission meeting.
Chief Todd Blaser says the number of EMS calls increased by nearly 24% from this time a year ago.
Concerning Fire Loss Data, the property value of fire losses in May amounted to $253,500 and the year-to-date figure was approaching $1.5 million.
The MFRD response to vehicle accidents went up by almost 8% and service calls were up by nearly 14%.
