Lakeshore United Visionaries (LUV) is debuting Manitowoc’s inaugural pride event.
The day is set for July 29 in two separate parts.
The first is a family-friendly block party from noon to 5:00 p.m. based around Stagedoor Pub on 7th and Franklin Street.
Activities include musicians, drag performers, local vendors, storytelling, and educational content.
LUV Board Member Sonia Vasquez explained why they wanted to add a storytelling section, after being inspired by seeing it at other Pride events.
“We’re just really excited about the event,” she told Seehafer News. “It was really interesting. It could range from funny stories, to embarrassing stories, to really sad stories. But, all of them were just very human. And, I think I really liked that aspect and wanted to bring that to pride.”
The second part is an 18+ night from 6 to 10 at the Two Rivers Community House.
It will feature adult beverages and a DJ.
Don’t forget to bring your ID, as they will be checked at the door.
Those interested in sponsoring or volunteering for the event are encouraged to email LakeshoreUnitedVisionaries@gmail.com for more information.
