In Shoreland League Baseball last night, in local semi-pro baseball, the Manitowoc Bandits used a 7-run 2nd inning to grab control and went on to defeat the Algoma Guins 9-to-3 last night.
According to Bandits Coach Chris Cisler, the key blow in the early uprising was a 3-run homer by Brandon Black.
Ben Coons went 3 for 4 with a double and Jaicee Foster added a pair of doubles in support of winning pitcher Luke Mandich, who worked the first 6 innings and struck out 6 Algoma batters.
Jacob Gallagher came on in relief to earn a 3-inning save with 5 strikeouts.
The Bandits return to action Thursday evening for a 7:30 p.m. contest with the Branch Blaze at Municipal Field.
