A Manitowoc woman is facing charges after a physical altercation with a minor where she allegedly hit them with a frying pan.
Officers first arrived at the 42-year-old woman’s home at around 11:45 Tuesday evening when she reported the child as a runaway.
The officer took the report and returned later when the child returned home.
Initially, the officer couldn’t make contact with anyone, but as he was leaving, the officer heard a commotion inside he believed to be a physical altercation.
When the officer entered to the home, they reported seeing the woman and the child fighting.
Once they were separated, the woman told the officer that the child started the fight, but the child claimed it was the woman who started the fight, and had hit them with a frying pan.
The officer noted that the adult had no visible injuries, while the child had to be taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The woman had also changed her story, leading to her arrest on a charge of Physical Abuse of a Child, Intentionally Causing Bodily Harm.
The relationship between the two was redacted in the police report.
