Green Bay police are accusing a 17-year-old male of several offenses as part of a surge of auto thefts in that city. Darian Pinchart was charged by the Brown County District Attorney with Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, knowingly fleeing an officer, driving a vehicle without owner’s consent and obstructing an officer. The charges resulted from an incident Wednesday of last week when officers were making a traffic stop and he fled, causing a wrist injury to an officer and damage to a squad car. Pinchart was tracked down and captured with the use of a K9 unit.
Police say there have been about 20 new reports of stolen autos and attempted thefts in Green Bay since the beginning of April. Chief Chris Davis says “auto theft is a serious crime and we are committed to holding those responsible for it, accountable.
