A physical altercation has left a Manitowoc man facing child abuse charges.
According to police reports, the incident was called into the Manitowoc Police Department at around 4:30 Sunday evening (July 1st).
Officers arrived at the residence in the 1200 block of South 16th Street, where they spoke with a man who claimed “everyone” was attacking him.
He claimed to be injured and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
While he was being treated, others in the home explained that the 28-year-old man had called a minor in the residence a derogatory term for eating food and drinking despite not paying for the items.
The minor admitted to slapping the man, after which he reportedly began punching the minor. Others stepped in to defend the victim, with one individual admitting to throwing the man to the ground.
The man was arrested on charges of Physical Abuse of a Child with Intentional Bodily Harm, Misdemeanor Bail Jumping, and two counts of Disorderly Conduct, one with a Domestic Violence enhancer.
