American Legion Post 165 will be hosting an American Flag retirement ceremony at Vietnam Veteran Park in Two Rivers next month.
The ceremony will be held on August 2nd at 6 p.m. in the parking lot at the end of Jackson Street in Vietnam Park.
Anyone is welcome to come and bring their flags not worthy of flying anymore.
The flags will then be properly and honorably disposed of.
As per the Department of Defense, when an American flag becomes tattered or no longer serviceable, it is to be burned in a ceremony that honors the flag itself, and the heroes who have died in service to it.
