Many exciting things are happening in the city of Two Rivers in the next coming days.
This weekend will be a celebration of completion for Central Park West in downtown Two Rivers.
City Manager Greg Buckley tells us that on Saturday there will be a dedication for the recent addition to Central Park West, the Schmitt Brothers Stage.
He tells Seehafer News the event will be to honor “four young men who took the train to Toledo in 1951 and returned as world champion barber shoppers, there’s a full afternoon of activities starting with the dedication of the stage at noon then four hours plus of great barbershop music, plus plenty of great food and drink as well.”
The following day, Sunday, will be a Celebration Day for Central Park West as a whole.
“We’ll kick it off with music by the Spicy Tie Band starting at noon, there will be a short dedication ceremony midway through that concert at 1:30, then more Spicy Tie Band followed by the music from 10 strings through the dinner hour,” Buckley explained. “At 6:00 pm the Lakeshore Wind Ensemble takes the stage for a great outdoor performance, there’ll be food vendors, with barbeque, Mexican food, pitas, burgers, and brats, all of your favorite beverages, and of course ice cream here in the home of the sundae.”
Outside of Central Park are many more fun events this weekend in Two Rivers as Tourism Director Brian Dean explains.
“Come on down to Neshotah Beach on the 14th and 15th Friday and Saturday to celebrate our Latin-American friends and neighbors with food, dance, games, and competitions at the Latino-American beach fest, it’s going to be a great time,” he said. “Lastly, I want to encourage to get everyone out on our charter fishing boats, the king salmon are running like crazy, they’re on the hook.”
