The perfect event for burger lovers everywhere is happening in Seymour earlier next month.
August 12th is the date set for the 34th annual Burger Fest on Depot Street in downtown Seymour.
Kicking off the Saturday with a 5k Bun Run, the day will also feature the World’s Largest Hamburger Parade, music, kid’s games, a burger eating contest, and the Giant Ketchup Slide.
Happening at the same time in conjunction with the Burger Fest, the annual Hot Air Balloon Rally is a free event set for the 11th and 12th with hot air balloon ascension, food, and kid’s activities at Rock Ledge School and Park.
Burger Fest began in 1989 to celebrate the birth of the burger in 1885.
The festival is fully volunteer-run and aims to “raise funds for scholarships and community projects in the Home of the Hamburger”.
Tickets cost $3 in advance and $5 at the gate, kids 12 and under are admitted free with a paid adult.
