The PetSkull brewing company and Manitowoc Public Library have partnered up to host the 3rd Brew N’ Bee this coming Wednesday, July 19th.
“It’s a spelling bee for adults, 21 and older, but in every other regard, it is run like the Scripps Spelling Bee,” Manitowoc Public Library Marketing Coordinator Tim Gadinzki has explained. “You have your words, we have the easy, medium, and hard rounds. A champion will be crowned that evening.”
Gadzinski also noted that there is a $20 registration fee but for that what he described as “two delicious, delectable Petskull beers, or a water or soda if you so choose, a certificate suitable for framing or using as a placemat for your beers the night of the Brew n Bee, a shot at glory.”
As most standard spelling bees have a champion, this one does too.
The champion of the bee will receive a real trophy that has been donated by Manitowoc Trophy along with a keg party donated by PetSkull, donated by Seehafer News, two tickets to see REO Speedwagon at the State Fair, and a full-service oil change from Novak Service Center.
Gadinzki has more information on entering the bee and what that entails along with how many people can enter.
“We aim to have 25, there are still a couple of spots left open. In fact, every person that signs up to participate in “Spell Harder,” will receive a pair of tickets for entrance into the Wisconsin State Fair, graciously donated by Seehafer News. Before you even utter a single letter, you’re a winner,” he revealed. “You can get there to register, go to the library’s website www.manitowoclibrary.org. You do have to pay in cash or check at Petskull Brewing before we start up, and one thing that’s also pretty great about this is, let’s say you spell your word wrong right out of the shoot, we have cheats available that you can buy prior to the Bee starting.”
Registration to enter the bee along with purchasing cheats for the competition will be open until July 19th at 5:50 p.m.
The Brew N’ Bee will be held at PetSkull Brewing and will begin at 6:00 p.m. on July 19th.
