The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection is accepting applications for Buy Local, Buy Wisconsin Grants through August 18th.
The DATCP will award a total of up to $200,00 in grant funding in 2023.
Buy Local, Buy Wisconsin is a competitive grant program designed to strengthen Wisconsin’s agriculture and food industries by helping farms and businesses more efficiently process, market, and distribute locally grown food products.
Projects will be required to report on increased local food sales, created and retained jobs, and new investments.
Projects may receive grant funds for up to three years in duration, and grant requests must be between $5,000 and $50,000.
Since its inception in 2008, 571 applications have been submitted for Buy Local, Buy Wisconsin grants, of those 571,112 projects have been funded, totaling more than $2.8 million, with grant recipients generating more than $13.89 million in new local food sales as well as creating and retaining more than 400 jobs.
