Wisconsin residents are invited to search waterways for invasive species.
Aquatic Invasive Species Snapshot Day is a day where volunteers monitor streams, lakes, and wetlands at designated sites to find non-native plants and animals that pose risks to Wisconsin waterways and wildlife.
Volunteers have a choice to register at one of the over twenty event locations hosted by local conservation groups.
This year will mark the snapshot day’s 10th successful year, and information collected will be provided to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to inform and guide monitoring and response efforts.
This free event will be held on August 19th from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.
