A house fire in Kiel was quickly put out this morning and a damage estimate is pending.
The Kiel Fire Department was called just after three this morning to a structure fire at 928 4th Street in the city.
Residents of the home were awakened by smoke detectors and were able to evacuate safely.
Firefighters arrived on the scene within six minutes of the call and managed to put out the fire within minutes.
The fire was contained in the room where it started.
Crews remained on the scene for an hour conducting salvage, overhaul, and ventilation.
The fire is believed to have started from the misuse of burning materials.
There were no injuries, and the Kiel Fire Department reminds everyone of the importance of having working smoke detectors.
