The Attorney General of Wisconsin, Josh Kaul, is seeking to withdraw from the lawsuit concerning former President Donald Trump’s border wall project.
However, before proceeding, he needs to seek approval from the lawmakers.
In 2019, Wisconsin joined several other states in suing the Trump Administration over its plan to redirect funds from the National Guard toward constructing the wall along the southern border.
Presently, the lawsuit has hit a roadblock because President Biden issued an executive order halting the fund diversion.
To address this matter, lawmakers will convene a hearing this morning to discuss the lawsuit.
In Wisconsin, any involvement of the Attorney General in entering or exiting lawsuits that concern the state requires prior approval from the state’s lawmakers.
This process ensures proper oversight and accountability in legal matters involving the state’s interests.
