It didn’t take long for jurors to find Taylor Schabusiness guilty on all counts.
The jurors only deliberated for about 30 minutes before issuing their ruling in the killing, dismemberment, and sexual assault of Shad Thyrion.
Prior to deliberation, Shad Thyrion’s father testified. He spoke of Shad’s relationship with Schabusiness, which had been ongoing since middle school.
Then, the detectives assigned to the case took the stand, where they spoke of what happened right after Shad’s head was found.
They explained that they Schabusiness for about 6 hours, where she revealed that she enjoyed strangling Thyrion.
She also described using knives from the kitchen to dismember him, and used a tote to contain the blood.
A video of the interview was also shown to the jury.
Both the prosecution and defense rested their case, and closing statements were issued before the jury deliberated.
